Dr. Saad Saad has recently retired after almost five decades in the medical field. He has been a successful pediatric surgeon. Although he now enjoys an enviable profile, it was not like this in his early life. Dr. saad was born in Palestine just as the state of Israel was being created. This development led to him and his family being relocated make room for the state of Israel.
His father was a hardworking man, by 1950s he had acquired skills as a petroleum mechanic. At this time, the oil in the Middle East was being discovered. His father was able to relocate the family to Kuwait. Knowing that education is the key to success, his father encouraged him to work hard in school. He impacted the mentality to his son that with the education you could take on anything in life.
While at high school Dr. Saad Saad, visited a construction site in Kuwait. The weather was excruciatingly hot. As Dr. Saad moved around the construction, he suffered a heat stroke and collapsed. After regaining conscience, he realized the outdoor labor wasn’t meant for him. Dr. Saad searched for career opportunities that could accommodate this condition. He realized he would find the best working conditions in an operating room. The operating room was always air conditioned.
With dedication, Dr. Saad Saad worked hard towards this goal. This culminated to him joining Cairo University in Egypt where he graduated with honors. From accomplishing his goal to be a pediatric surgeon, Dr. Saad Saad prides himself in that he can motivate others. He encourages people to accept nothing less than success. He urges people to have goals and follow up on them. Dr. Saad notes that if these goals are not put into action, they will only remain dreams. And unaccomplished dreams will always fuel frustrations.
After completing his internship, in England. He emigrated to the US. In the US, he became a US Board Certified pediatric surgeon. This accomplishment made him the only certified pediatric surgeon in the US who could speak both English and Arabic. This unique accomplishment afforded him an opportunity that any surgeon would envy.
He was requested by the Saudi Royal family to be the surgeon for their children. He held this position for four years before returning to the US.
